Few Tips On How To Make A Successful Blog
First off before I write this “How To”
If you don’t have a blog and would
like to get one than you can click
here for a free wordpress.com blog
What is your blog going to be about
First off your going to want to figure out what your blog is going to be about [niche] so you can set up your blog to appeal to readers that have the same interest. [Niche]
Picking Your Blog Theme
next after you figure out what your blog is going to be about
you’re going to want a theme for you’re blog.
you can find a “Theme” for you’re blog
by going to “DashBoard>Design
You’re going to want to find a “Theme” that show’s off your
writing style the best. keep your readers in mind when
you’re picking your theme you don’t want your “Theme”
to busy looking for your readers. It will be one of the fastest
ways to turn your readers away…
Letting Readers Know What Your Blog Is About
I would recommend creating a welcome or about page
to let your readers easily find the information regarding
what your site is about…
If it’s your first time posting on your
blog I recommend posting a short
detailed post about your site and
considering the option above since
the post will get buried once you
start posting other article’s…
Contact Page
Ok now that you have figured out what your blog is going to be about
and have picked out a theme and set up a about page….
Now your going to want to focus on creating a “Contact Page” so your
readers can contact you if there’s something wrong with your blog. There is
two forms of contact page styles you might want to consider…
Option 1 “Email Form”
If you’re using a wordpress.com blog than you can accomplish this by putting this short cut [ contact-form ] (with out the spaces between the brackets) into your page make sure to turn comments off it will confuse the readers… Here is a link to the FAQS page were you can find more information on the contact form short cut…
Using this option will keep you’re email private
from the readers unless you reply through you’re email
Option2 “Guest Book” Page
Providing a “GuestBook“ on your blog will give your readers
an way to interact with the blog Admin and the other blog
readers….. For non article related discussions….
Ok now that you have completed all the of the above
you’ll want to focus on content….
Content Is King
You’ll want to focus on content that your readers can relate too
it’s good for discussions between your readers and the blog
admin…. I’m not saying all your content has to be that way
just keep your readers in mind when you write your articles…
Time thief , A good friend of mine has a blog dedicated to blogging
resources & tutorials she has wrote up some recent articles
on “Content Is King” & “Pillar post “ i highly recommend checking out
these great helpful articles….
Promotion.
Ok now that you have completed all of the aboveĀ you’ll want to promote
you’re blog to let people know your blog is out there in the blog sphere…
Here is a few ways to promote you’re blog
1. Word of mouth (very effective)
2. Join Social network sites. (effective)
3. Leave meaningful comments on other blogs (very effective)
4. Join Blog Catalog, (very effective)

Your welcome!
Thanks for the article, the guest book page idea is awesome…I think I might put one on my blog. That way I can ask people to say hi, or offer a place to voice any comments or constructive criticism not related to a specific post. Thanks again for the ideas.
You’re welcome melancholymylove, I’m glad you found the guest book idea useful.
OMG, this is the FIRST site that has given a non tech person the tools to promote a blog. I have read all of your articles on setting up Feedburner, Tumblr, etc. and I am thrilled to have you as a resource. I am looking forward to future posts based on your experience.
Hi! I was surfing and found your blog post… nice! I love your blog.
