How To Display Your Latest Twitter Tweet Work Around For WP.com
Edit: This Tutorial is no longer relevant because of a recent twitter update by staff for WordPress.com

This topic has been brought up in the forums many times without a solution So I”m here today to say their is a simple work around even though it doesn’t look as nice as a Java Script widget. But it serves the purpose since here at WordPress.com we can not use Java script for security reasons.
Okay so the work around consist of displaying a image that updates automatically when you post a new tweet but their is a small catch to this the lasted tweet takes 30 seconds and requires a new page load (someone arrived at your site by clicking a link) or if their on your site your readers will need to click the refresh button on the browser if they want to check and see if theirs a new tweet after they have been on your site for a couple of minutes.
How to set up your latest tweet on your blog
Step: 1You’ll need to set up a Twitter account if you don’t have one & write a TweetStep: 2 Watch Video then continue to Step 3 Video is best viewed in full screen and with HD turned on
Step 3 Open a new tab on your browser and go to Twitter post a new Tweet Return to the tab that has your site wait 30 seconds then click refresh if your image updates your done

This is a good idea, but it’s pretty limiting, and not having control over the appearance of twitsig can really force it to stand out. Which, for those of us who are fans of aesthetic, this could be ugly.
The other way to do it is to simply copy the RSS feed address of your tweets on your twitter homepage, then make a new RSS widget using the feed. It’ll display your latest tweet, and match with your WP.com blogs CSS.
Hello, Phear I totally agree from your stand point
but some WP.com Members would like to see faster
Tweet updates on their blog and don’t care if it blends
with the blog or not.
The current problem with the RSS approach is it usually
takes a couple of hours to update since the RSS Feed is cached.
Thanks for stopping by and expressing your opinion.
P.S. Sorry for the Late response,
Toxic,
I found this quite useful. Thanks

You’re welcome Chris,
Just thought i’d let you know that now wordpress has released a widget that can be used on wordpress.com sites. Typical that just after we get it sorted they release what people have been after for ages!
Hello Ben, I’m aware of the new update I posted a message at the top of the post i’ll blockquote it to make it more noticeable.
Sometimes staff are very late to add a feature that is popular. Thats usually how the hand plays out.
